Emissions data
from the EI (Emissions Inventory) is one of the most important inputs for
AQMs (Air Quality Models). SMOKE (the Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions)
developed by MCNC was adopted by IMAQS to provide emissions inputs for the
AQMs, mainly CMAQ. Emissions inputs processed by SMOKE are currently being
used for several tasks such as
EPS2 is our
alternative emissions processing model for CAMx simulations in the TFORS project.
Current emissions inventories are processed by implementing them into SMOKE
and EPS2. In the case of mobile emissions, MOBILE6 outputs for HGA 8 counties
by TTI (the Texas Transportation Institute) are processed by EPS2. The emissions
inventories used are:
BEIS2 and BEIS3
(Biogenic Emissions Inventory System) in SMOKE are used for the estimation
of biogenic emissions with BGUSE and BCUSE files.
