Emissions data from the EI (Emissions Inventory) is one of the most important inputs for AQMs (Air Quality Models). SMOKE (the Sparse Matrix Operator Kernel Emissions) developed by MCNC was adopted by IMAQS to provide emissions inputs for the AQMs, mainly CMAQ. Emissions inputs processed by SMOKE are currently being used for several tasks such as

EPS2 is our alternative emissions processing model for CAMx simulations in the TFORS project. Current emissions inventories are processed by implementing them into SMOKE and EPS2. In the case of mobile emissions, MOBILE6 outputs for HGA 8 counties by TTI (the Texas Transportation Institute) are processed by EPS2. The emissions inventories used are:

BEIS2 and BEIS3 (Biogenic Emissions Inventory System) in SMOKE are used for the estimation of biogenic emissions with BGUSE and BCUSE files.
