FIELD OF SPECIALIZATION AND INTEREST

Meteorological and air quality modeling ---
TexAQS2000 episode is simulated by using CMAQ with radm2 mechanism and WRF output as the Met. data. And WRFCHEM model is also used as well for the same case. The comparison of the simulation results provides an opportunity to evaluate efficacy of the two distinct modeling systems.

PROJECTS

UH Trajectory System ---
In order to generate 12-hr backward trajectory 4 times per day for Southern Texas, a 3D wind field is required for the input of trajectory model (ARL/UH HYSPLIT model). The objective analysis (LITTLE_R) in MM5 system is used to build the wind field with NCEP Eta data and observations that are downloaded by perl scripts, so called DataSpider, automatically from web-sites. This system is available at http://www.imaqs.uh.edu/traj_RT.
